Recently our 2-year-old (but out of warranty) Kitchen Aid fridge began making a loud but intermittent sound. We can hear this sound when in the other room and will normally last 30-60 seconds and then go away completely.

It started making this sound infrequently (once a day or so) and it would last 10-15 seconds, but has recently been happening more often (multiple times a day) and has been getting louder in addition to lasting longer.

Here is a video of the sound its making:

Called KA who referred us to their service company who came out and diagnoses the issue as a "normal sound from the damper" and said there was nothing to be done to fix the sound. Then they charged $118 for their time.

As this didn't happen when the fridge was new and has been getting worse I tend to disagree with their diagnosis but would love additional options before I go other routes (including reaching out to Kitchen Aid again).

Any help or opinions is much appreciated.
