I have a Whirlpool top loader that works perfect with out clothes. Put a load of wash in and it stops advancing to the net cycle and is stuck in filling with water. I have no clue what to do, or why this is happening.

It fills with water, but never runs over?

Check the drain. Is it too low or connected directly without a siphon break?

I will check that, but why would it work perfectly and advance to the next cycle with out clothes but not with?
