Our aging Frigidaire stove recently started having issues with the right front (dual size) element, and at this time it doesn't heat at all. When turned on, you can clearly hear the relays 'click' to cycle the element on/off, but it never seems to receive any power.

Thus far we've replaced the element itself and the dual control switch - neither one helped. Some additional testing with a multimeter showed that the element is getting some power, but engaging the switch doesn't change anything we can test - unlike the behavior observed with the rest of the (properly working) elements.

Despite searching around the entire unit, we've been unable to locate a model number anywhere. But based on a few part #'s we were able to identify, our best guess is that it's model is #GLEF396ASC.

Any suggestions?

I don't know much about this particular range, but according to this wiring diagram, all the surface elements are switched off and on by a board called the surface unit control board.

It no doubt has at least 4 relays and more likely has 6. All relays they have finite number of times they can be switched on and off. At some point the contacts start burning up. the more you use them the sooner they fail.

If you check this board you might find relays that are burnt, partially un-soldered from the board, or burnt traces. If everything tests good there it might be the temperature limit switch.

If you need that board, I'd go with the number on the old board to look it up.
