Good morning,
Noticed water coming out of the freezer compartment, from food thawing out. Freezer well above 40 degrees. Probably food keeping it that cold. :)
Fridge side was up to 56 degrees.
Condensor coils a bit dirty but not totally closed off.
condensor motor running. (and evaperator)
Compressor cuts on for about 5 to 10 seconds, then kicks off.
Compressor repeats about every 5 minutes or so, starts and runs for a few seconds and kicks off. Compressor was pretty warm, ok, real warm.
Run capacitor seems ok, with ohmmeter.
Hard to check compressor, but seems to be within a few tenths of an ohm. Not shorted or open.
Could it be the Controller TSD? Or something else.
Thanks for your help,
David

I have a cheap clamp on, checked one of the wires to the compressor when it kicks on for the brief 5 seconds, showing 17 amps, I suppose compressor is fried?

It sounds like its pulling high amps. It should be around 2 amps when running. Probably stuck or has really tight bearings.
