Our Kenmore upright freezer runs all the time and frosts up very quickly. My wife defrosted it two weeks ago and a week later it was totally frosted up again. I did turn the temp control down from 5 to 3(range: off to 7) and it seemed to keep it from running quite as much. Also, when the freezer was newer it used to make a vacuum like sound when you closed the door; it does not do that any more.
I should probably mention too that the freezer is in the garage and it is hot out there in the summer(Northern Indiana).

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

I am thinking possibly a bad door gasket. Won't seal; freezer runs all the time and frosts up.
But, is it worth spending $130.00 on a freezer nearly 20 years old or should I just buy a new more efficient freezer?
