Hi,

I just got a Magic Chef Mini Fridge (3.5 cu ft.) and I can NOT find any information on the internet about it. When I plug it in nothing happens. When I say nothing happens I mean there are no clicks....no nothing! I want to just replace the overload and start relay (The only 2 electronic components that I can see on the compressor) but I cannot find out any information online on the part numbers or to cross reference.

I have tried to look up the model number of the fridge (very little results and none worth anything), the part numbers that are on the parts and I am about at my wits end.

Can anyone help out?

Could it be that this cross references with
HMBR350WE1/HMBR350BE1/ HMBR350SE1?

I am guessing the parts that I need are:

Magic Chef 6R8MD3 PTC STARTER

Overload 314MFBYY

Can anyone confirm or refute before I spend money on parts that might/might not work?

Boy, you would think the admins of this forum would respond to this after 48 hours to get a sale on the parts.

Did you check for 120VAC coming to the compressor start devices? Did you check the overload for continuity? It's possible the problem is a faulty thermostat.

Magic Chef does not provide breakdown diagrams and part numbers for most of the products. Instead, they licensed some marketing company to distribute their appliances and parts.

The best solution for you, after proper diagnosis, is to take suspected parts to a local appliance parts store to match them up.

In this digital age of the internet I find it surprising, and unnerving, that a physical inspection of the parts (pics) or the compressor model # yields no answers either through the forum or on Google. Weird.
