Ordered part #AP6008005 ( WP33002855) for my dryer. The dryer turns on now, but the timer doesn't time and when I open the door the dryer keeps going? Is this the wrong part or is the part defective?

Wrong timer
replace with #AP6007999 (WP33002803)
