Greetings,
my electric dryer (Maytag Centennial) operates just fine but will not dry the clothes without running two to three cycles. I purchased it brand new in December of 2009 and its been a great unit up to this point. any suggestions ?

It heats?

General rule of dryers: If they heat but take a long time to dry it is a airflow issue. Check your vent where it exits your building and see if you are getting a nice strong flow. If not look for reasons why; such as a blocked screen at exit or kinked vent behind machine or under house.

That's not an infallible rule but 95% of the time that's the issue. I see this 2-3 times per week and hate having to charge someone $100 to tell them that and leave; as I do not clean vents unless it is very easily accessible.
