Got a Maytag Centennial washer that my wife and daughter bought a garage sale when I was out of town. Guaranteed to work. It does not. The washer fills and agitates but does not drain. There is a 60 Hertz buzz. I manually drained the tub and pulled the direct drive pump. It is not jammed. I restarted the drain cycle without the pump installed and I get the same buzzing noise. I assume that the motor is not spinning in the reverse direction. Are there separate motor starting capacitors for the forward and reverse direction? What's the next step?
