My dryer is getting so hot the cloths burn your hands, and it wont turn off

Sounds like the element might be broken and the coil wire has shorted to ground, causing it to heat all the time. UNplug dryer, remove element, and inspect it for any broken coils. Here is a video that will help you https://youtu.be/QsrkSjeiFyw
