Hello Everyone,
The wires connected to the bottom heating element in my 19 year old Magic Chef oven need replacing. The yellow wire is burned and the wire on the right side is deep inside of the cavity of the oven, the spade prong was stuck on the old element. This is an under counter slide in oven, model #9512WUV. It is in pristine condition and was baking with ease. I have been told that I need to replace the entire oven, but I do not believe this. What parts do I need and is it extremely difficult to replace the wires? It seems that the biggest obstacle is removing the oven from under the counter and disconnecting the electrical wires. The oven is hard-wired. Thanks.
Could I use the broiler (top element) safely until I replace the bottom element?

Make sure to turn the power off when you touch or work on any wiring. The wires might be long enough to cut them back and put on new crimp on connectors. If they are too short, you just need 6 or so inches of high temp range wiring to wirenut onto the existing good wiring. Use 1/4 inch high temp crimp on connectors and ceramic wire nuts if possible. They can stand the heat better. All connections should go together and fit tight. Any loose wire or connections will generate heat and that will eventually destroy the connection. You might be able to get the wires back by using a pair of forceps or a small piece of wire shaped at the end (like a hook), used to hook the wire through the hole and pull it out where you can get to it. Or you may need to pull the whole range out. If the old elements terminals are burnt, replace it. Whirlpool WPY04000066 Element Kit - AppliancePartsPros.com
