I have found a couple other post with same problem I have, but didn't see any replies. Hoping I have better luck, I'm posting this for my neighbor while she's at the laundry mat with her kids. Kenmore stackable washer/dryer combo model 417.97822701 spins but won't agitate. it spins and drains just fine, electric motor drives belt in both directions but while trying to agitate with just water in drum and agitator removed the rod that comes up to agitate barely moves cap above agitator and i can effortlessly stop the cap from turning with no more than just putting a finger on it.
