Earlier today a teakettle broke on my in-laws GE electric range, dumping water onto the front left burner.

The burner exploded and is dead. We'll be getting a new one soon, but in the meantime I took the working burner out of the back right slot and put it in the front so they could keep using it.

But it's not working.

I'm guessing a fuse blew, but I don't know the model number or how to go about finding the replacement part.

Here's a picture of the entire stove.

And the control panel.

You need a model number to get the right parts.

I would say at the very least you need a receptacle for that element and a new element and maybe the switch.

When you have a big short like that (water in an electrical connection) bad things happen. The receptacle probably shorted and burned, the element may be damaged and the switch probably exceeded its amp rating by quite a bit while this was happening.
