I have installed a new control knob - currently it can fall out/off. I am using the switch nut behind the control knob. What am I doing wrong? What keeps the knob from falling out?

This knob is removable (in "off" position) by design as a safety option to prevent not authorized use of the trash compactor (mostly as a child protection).

If it's in "on" position then it locks in and would not fall out.
