I have a 4 burner GE cook top that has a Maxitrol convertible regulator that was set up for nat. gas. I flipped the widget to propane setting. Am I right to assume that this is the low pressure regulator and that I need a high pressure regulator going into it from my portable tank or a twin stage regulator or would that be redundant? Vertical or horizontal regulator? I'm in the Pacific Northwest, plenty rain and humidity. Also, the one orifice I took out was stamped #54. I spect that's rather large for propane. Any suggestions as to a better size? I called GE and they said there is no conversion kit for this even though the regulator can be converted.
