Hi there. I'm trying to DIY my ice maker repair on my Whirlpool Gold GC3PHEXNS02.
My ice maker had stopped making ice.
I've made some progress; but at this point it dispenses water into the tray, and freezes it. It only rarely dumps the ice without me forcing it by shorting the T and H test holes.
Leading up to this point, I was reading about 34V on a meter on the ice maker's power harness on black & white and black & green (or was it white and green?)
So, I bypassed the optic receiver board by jumping the black & black/white wires in that power harness then I got 120V at the icemaker power harness
I plugged it back in, and water dispensed (after I thawed the fill tube earlier in my troubleshooting)
After diagnosing the issue w/ the 34V's instead of 120V's, I ordered that optic receiver board yesterday (AP5956767).
When I bypassed the ice level power control board, I closed the door and a few seconds later the tray filled with water, and then I waited for that to freeze up into cubes, but it didn't eject the tray all day long. With that bypassed though, shouldn't it be dumping the ice on a regular schedule?Sometime in the night it dumped it and filled up again on its own..
I expected it to dump the ice all day and non-stop; but it only dumped the tray one time in the past 24 hours on its own.
However, if I take the ice maker out partially to access the T&H test holes and jumper them, it then triggers the melt phase and dumps the cubes properly. then fills again.
Today, I have been manually jumping the T & H holes on the ice maker to trigger the heat/dump process. Why would I have to manually intervene like that? what would cause the heat/dump to not work every time automatically?

Your icemaker does not go by time, it goes by temperature. There is a thermostat that is touching the ice mold. When the temperature gets low enough, the thermostat closes and activates the harvest cycle.
Check your temperature in the freezer, it should be about 0 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit. If its too warm then the harvest cycle is going to be erratic.

I finally received the ice level sensor board (AP5956767) that I had ordered and installed it. Unfortunately, even after installing it, I'm still getting approximately 34 volts sent to the ice maker. I've created a video to explain my problem. https://youtu.be/kb4Tcgvf2sYI'm having the exact same issue I had before I replaced that board. What could be my problem? Do I need to replace the left side transmitter, too? I've run out of ideas. Please help. I put the ice maker back in, as I mentioned at the end of the video, and it did make ice throughout the day while the ice level sensor was bypassed. Thank you!
