I have an old Kitchen Aid Superba clothes washer that stop mid "WASH" cycle. In other words, the agitation stops before the wash cycle is completed. And when I move the dial to other cycles, they, too, do not work. I already installed a new lid switch and that did not fix the problem. I'm looking at replacing the timer now but wanted to contact this forum before doing so. I would hate to get rid of this washer. It's a workhorse and I've heard too many complaints about the newer machines being produced.

A model number would be helpful and is necessary to look up parts for your machine.

So when your machine quits, does it make any noises at all? Will it drain the water out? Do any of the cycles work?

I'm thinking it might be the motor overheating. If it was overheating, it would require a certain amount of time to cool down before it would start again.
