I have an LG model lfx21960st. Side by Side refrigerator and freezer. The ice chute door that sits up in the dispenser on the left door front continues to open and close quickly 3 or 4 times. BAM BAM BAM. No ice is dispensed. If I WANT ice, it works fine. I'm just trying to get it to stop chattering. This happens 5-6 times a day, randomly. I have replaced the MAIN BOARD and a second board that sits in the dispenser housing. That board number is 6871jb2061. Neither investment solved the problem. Any ideas??

There's a little microswitch up by the ice chute door. That's what tells it that you have depressed the lever and want ice or water. If that is sticking it'll open the door, however usually it would try to push ice out at that point also. There may however be a delay built in to allow the door to fully open before it tries to move ice.
If you can access it try unplugging that switch and see if the behavior changes. That will however disable the whole ice/water dispenser for normal usage also
