Tonight I replaced the drain pump in my Maytag MAH3000AWW washing machine, I did a load of laundry and at some point the belt slipped off. I put the belt back on and ran the machine to see what was going on and the belt slid way too far inwards toward the tub.

My concern is that I noticed a fairly deep groove cut into the tub (Or whatever part that is right behind the pulley) by the belt. Unfortunately I don't know if this is a new problem or if it has been like this since I originally replaced the motor about 8 or 9 years ago.

Either way, how do I fix this issue? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I should probably mention that the reason I replaced the pump was because it wasn't able to pump with enough pressure. Took it apart and found out 3 out of 4 fins on the impeller were broken off (and missing) and the backflow valve was missing. So I don't think that has anything to do with the belt issue.
