Hello everyone, I have trolled your boards in the past but never posted, now I need to post. Bought this freezer from big box store, they dropped it off and set it up on a Friday and left, 30 minutes later I pushed that temp button inside and the whole unit went off never to come back to life again. Called whirlpool on Monday and two weeks later a tech came out and said it would be 3 weeks for a part but he didn't know which part ??????? Called manager at store and he had a new one brought out 3 days later. 1 year later, I touched that damn button again and poof everything goes off, but the light works ( I knew I shouldn't have pushed that damn button) Whats up with these dang things that they go out when you push that temp button? Being the weekend, I had to put a jumper wire in there to get the damn thing to run because I am not losing 2k worth of meat and seafood. Can that board be bought?
Thanks, AL

Did you try holding the button in for more than 3 seconds?

Yes sir I did, I looked up the manual with the first freezer and tried all the settings, nothing works. Did the same with the second freezer and same thing, when I unplug from the wall and plug in it makes this little tune sound and lights flash on the pad but that's it, the light works inside but nothing else, currently have the power wire unplugged from the circuit board inside and a jumper wire shoved in there to make the unit run, but not sure how good this is for the unit.

It sounds like WP has a board problem they need to address. I just read a bunch of reviews saying similar things about this model freezer.

I did a Google search. I just typed in the model number and the word "problem" and I found all kinds of things.
