I picked up this washing machine from Craigslist back on 9/30. Unit had no known issues, and seemed to work well once we got it home and installed.

Last week while running a regular load, it seemed that the control knob was getting stuck before switching over to the Rinse->Spin mode. The machine sounded like it was trying to go to the next mode, but couldn't make it by itself. I kept trying to change the mode manually to advance it so it would drain, and spin so I could dry the clothes which eventually worked.

Looking to replace whatever necessary parts so this will be fixed. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I want to make sure I order the correct parts, and not anything extra. Also want to make sure it's worth fixing.

I tried the washer on another setting. It filled half way with water, then stopped and started making a buzzing noise ~30 seconds, which would then click and shut off ~3 minutes. This happened on and off for a while until I pushed the knob to stop.

After reading the post (linked below), I was not sure if it could possibly be the lid switch?

I also am including a picture of the dial. As you can see the top white dial does not control the silver plate which points to the mode. I have to turn the silver plate, and use the white knob to push / pull the start / stop mode. Is this another issue or related to the same timer?

So the timer should fix both problems? Or is there an additional piece I would need?
