The lower (bake) element in my Whirlpool Gold wall oven in inop. I replaced the element, but still no joy. The old element had developed a hot spot and fractured. Everything else on the oven appears to be working and the resistance on the new element is around 25 ohms, so it appears to be OK. Any suggestions on where to look next?

I suspect the old elements pyrotechnic demise might have taken out the relay on the computer control board. I'd check the wiring from the element all the way to the CC board. If its OK, then its probably the board. You should be able to find a place that can repair the board. Just take lots of pictures for reference. http://www.appliancepartspros.c...wp8302994-ap6012659.html
