Ok, I'm working on my dryer. We started to smell gas so I turned the line off and removed the front panel. I'm thinking that the coils need replaced. I got the new coils and check for any gas leaks then installed the coils. I started the dryer with the drum and front panel off. The coils clicked and the igniter came on and the flame started. I thought it was fixed. I put it back together and tried it again and I could hear the coils click but no flame and I smelled the gas again. There is no peek hole in the lower front panel so I couldn't watch what it was doing, so I open the top and watched from there. The coils clicked and the igniter came on but it would,t light. That was why I could smell gas. My question is, why will it light when all apart but not when together?

Check for airflow. I always clean out vent and the outside vent opening. Clean the blower and filter area too.
Also there is an area on the back of the drum that can fill with lint blocking the small holes. Bad drum seals can lower air flow too.
