My Maytag dryer MEDC400VW0 only heats up on the low heat setting. If I put it on High heat timed dry or high heat energy preferred auto setting the heating element will not work. Does this sound like an element problem or something else?

Has this dryer got a heat selector switch or is the high heat part of the timer cycles?

If its on the timer, the timer might have a burnt off contact inside it. Some times you can hear it when you shake the timer.
