Hi there,

I need some advice on what options I have for this LG dryer. Thanks in advance.

This is an LG SteamDryer that is only 2 years old. The model number is DLEY1201W. What happened was that it suddenly stopped rolling during a run. Here is the symptom and what I have examined.

Press the Power button, the dryer can be turned on. The panel displays the usual lights. "Check Filter" light blinks. Press the cycle selection button to select one cycle. "Check Filter" light goes off. The "Dry" light turns on. When the Start button is pressed, the dryer makes some clicking sound, the "Dry" light blinks, but the machine is not rolling at all. Basically, nothing happens.

I have attempted to bypass the thermostat and thermal fuse. No change at all. So they do not seem to be the cause of the problem. I have also tested the door switch - with the door open, press Start button, the dryer does nothing but also does not make any clicking sound. So it seems the door switch is working fine.

I checked the lint filter and vent pipe - all clean.

So, any other simple and quick checks I can do? Does it mean that the problem is with the control board or the heat element? It is a quite new machine and has not been extensively used (just once or twice a week).

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
