This is bizarre.
When I open the fridge side (this does not happen on the freezer side) as the hinge rises and lowers in the gaps, while it's up, NOT when it's dropping, i get a loud pop and something in the door is jumping.
I've looked at the plastic hinge bearing itself and it sure looks fine. it also doesn't make this noise as i would expect if that hinge were bad.
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? i can pick up a new hinge and bearing for a reasonable price, but I don't want to do that if the problem lies elsewhere.
Iv'e looked and looked and for the life of me can't find where this is happening.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
FYI this isn't my fridge, it's in my house that I just moved into. i rent. I know I could bother the landlord but this seems like an easy enough thing to resolve if I can isolate it.

So thank you very much! maybe I should take a video of how it 'pops'. I was just hoping this was something a familiar person might know about from other people doing the same thing. It's not like it's a big expense. the entire assembly can be purchased for less than $35. I just don't know if that would resolve the problem so i was holding off until i could find someone that might be familiar with it. I appreciate the reply though. thank you

Not sure if anyone cares, but I thought I'd follow up
I ordered the entire hinge kit. the problem is, the door plate is almost $30 to order, but the entire kit, including that, the hinge, the pin and the mounting brackets for the door and fridge itself is only about $40 shipped. so it just made sense and I ordered the whole thing
