How can I repair the frequent faint pinging in the refrigerator? Refrigerator seem to run fine. the noise suggest something may be going wrong.

What part of the unit is the noise coming from? Some more information would help try and figure out what's going on. My first guess would be a fan hitting a shroud or ice.

Take a look at the fans and see if one of them is making contact with the shroud. May be able to just bend it out of the way a bit and go on with life.

The compressor is shutting down in conjunction with the pinging sound? Fans shut off too, or just the compressor?

Both the fans and compressor cycle on and off.

Sounds like a bum control board to me. They shouldn't cycle on and off frequently. If it was just the compressor, I'd say it was the inverter, but being all of them, probably the board.
