Every time the power goes out, I lose control of the dishwasher. I will hear a high-pitched, whining alarm that I am unable to disable, even by switching the breaker off. There are no lights on the control panel of the DW by which to reset the DW. The first time this happened, I let the alarm go on and one-by-one, the feature lights reappeared on the control panel, but I lost a couple of them. The dishwasher worked fine until the next power outage, although I had limited features.

This time, I couldn't tolerate the alarm and removed the panel on the interior door and dislodged an electronic plug to disable the alarm.

Now that I see so many posts about this same problem with GE dishwashers, I am doubting the thrift in fixing it. However, I am sure that all dishwashers on the market are controlled electronically, and am afraid to purchase another that may do the same thing in the future.

However, power outages do not affect the electronic interfaces on my gas stove or my washer.

Please advise.

Thank you.
