My gas range is 12 years old, and in that time I've had to replace the control panel 5 times. I'm at that point again, and no longer work at the appliance dealership where I could buy them at a reasonable price. My question is, could I replace the lousy ribbon connectors and membrane push buttons and use real wire harness and regular touch buttons? I've tested across the buttons that work and realize there is some resistance, so wondering if I need to provide that resistance for the buttons to work properly or prevent damage to the control board?
