Okay I am a little stumped here and would appreciate any thoughts or ideas.
A while ago I was having ice build up in the freezer on the drain pan and the lower half of the coils. It would continue to build up and eventually cover the bottom of the freezer.
Initially, I thought it was the Bi-Metal Defrost Thermostat and decided to change it to no avail.
Doing further research could not nail it down and decided to bring in a tech. He suggested that it might be the relay and questioned whether or not that was right.
I kept doing further research and decided to take the temperature of the Freezer and it was -20F couldn't believe it so tried it a couple more times and sure enough it was in the same range. So I decided to replace the Temperature probe. My temperature on the panel shows +5F and the internal temperature of the freezer is -4F. With almost a 10 degree difference there must be something still wrong. And the ice build up is considerably less but still there a little. So either it is not going through a complete defrost cycle and it is freezing the water before it has time to drain or it is still too cold.
It is also so cold that the ice maker is not working and when I take time with the dryer and thaw it all out it will make one batch of ice but that is all.
Looking for ideas and could it be the control board? Is there a way to test it?
Anything else I could look at before making the final leap on the control panel?
Thanks everyone in advance.
