I have the Bosch 800 converted to propane. All works perfectly (ignition, high flame, simmer) except:
When adjusting the flame from high to simmer, the first 2/3 of knob rotation does not lower the flame. The remaining 1/3 has complete control from high to simmer. Again, all works well except that the knob range from about full high to 1/3 on the knob has no effect on the flame. I've searched forums and have called Bosch with no luck. Is this just the nature of the cooktop when converted to propane?

Occasionally I find this does happen when coverted. Sometimes there is an adjustment screw in the center of the shaft that can be played with until it reaches the desired flame. Not all machines have this though

Thanks for the reply. The install manual has this screw turned to the stop for LP conversion. From the manual, it seems that this adjusts the simmer. However, I'll try to back it out and see if it gives me more adjustment without raising the simmer. (Might as well do it since I already bought the $18 screwdriver:))

OK. I adjusted the small screw at the base of the knob shaft and it is indeed just a simmer adjustment. Backing it off just sets the lowest setting somewhere above simmer. I returned it to the simmer setting. I guess I will just be happy with what I have - which works fine. Thanks for the help!
