Help! Based on other guidance, I have ordered and received a new control panel for my gas oven (for a Stuck Key message). And based on comments, I thought it was a quick and easy repair (or I would have paid someone to come in). And maybe it is, BUT...
I've removed all the screws along the bottom of the control panel. It pivots in and out from the bottom, a little. But it won't come off. Some guidance, maybe for a different model, says to slide the oven out to show some screws on the side. I don't see those. So I've been trying to take the plastic side panels off of the metal control panel. I'm afraid to apply too much pressure; I see that the side panels are no longer available so I definitely don't want to break them. I can pull it apart a bit on the sides, so that I can see the tabs on the plastic pieces, but it just doesn't want to come apart. How is this supposed to work; am I missing a step?
Thanks, Jim

Never mind... I found that if I remove the entire side panels of the oven, it exposed screws for the trim at the top. I removed those screws, and then I could slide off the upper trim, exposing the remaining screws for the control panel.
Now the electronics adventure begins. One step at a time...
