I have a whirlpool dryer that only gets warm. have to run more than one cycle to get clothes dry.

If this is an electric type unit you may have a problem with the heating element in that part of it is shorted out. Also another area to look at is the blower output to make sure the blower wheel is turning and not spinning on the shaft.
