I have bought the part to replace an infinite switch on my Kenmore range as well as the end brackets that needed replacing. I dropped a canister on the knob and broke the shaft or disconnected the switch, I don't know. I have removed the side brackets and the bar at the top, have removed the screws that hold the switches to the panel, but cannot get the front panel loose. Do you have to loosen the ceramic top? I really need a step-by-step instruction on how to do this. I've replaced control units in older ranges, but the newer they get, the harder the repair.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
