It seems the metal inserts on the last set of motor couplings I installed have rounded out the transmission drive shaft so the motor is basically free-wheeling and the transmission is getting no engagement. Is there an easy (even temporary) fix without replacing the entire transmission? We may need to start looking for a replacement for this 20-year war horse, but would like to keep doing laundry while we do it on our schedule (instead of in a mad dash).
