I have an oven...

***SIDENOTE: The oven is old and I live in Europe...ie 220v appliances

The oven has two top coils, one of them seems to be dead and I would like to replace it...I have a couple questions. Firstly, can I buy one that is made for another type of oven and use it on mine (I found one on ******** that looks like it would fit but is not intended for my oven)...and secondly, if the replacement coil i buy is intended for an american oven would that matter?

Many thanks for your help!

I have never done this so my answer cannot be relied upon as gospel.

It must be physically a very close match.
The hangers from the top of the oven must be able to attach to it.
Also the mount pale to the back of the oven must be the same or modifiable.
Also the distance the element extends past the back of the oven is critical. Too long and it will short out to the units rear cover.

Yes as it will effect the heat out put.
Your power is 220 volts while in North America it is 240 volts as an example 1500 watt NA element would run about 10% cooler. (1350 watts).
