I have an older unit (listed above) it has been a die hard! I replaced the heat element several months ago after it quit heating, I checked element first and found no continuity then removed and visually checked to find a break in the coil, replaced with new one and has worked great until now. I again checked the continuity on element, visually checked, tests good, appears good. I have 240V to element stopped and in running mode, all good. I've checked thermal fuse, good. I've check all connections, all good. So now what???

A model number could be helpful here. Find your model number - AppliancePartsPros.comSomething very strange is going on with the below. I have 240V to element stopped and in running mode, all good. If the element has continuity and a resistance of 8 to 12 ohms and there is 240 volts across it then it should heat up. Also when stopped there should not be 240 volts across the heating element. The heater circuit usually has a centrifugal switch on the motor which is open when the motor is stopped. It opens the heater circuit (L2) so there shoold not be 240 across the heating element. |

Sorry but nothing comes up when I look up the given model number at Sears.
Their numbers are usually 3 digits, a period and then an additional 8 digits. |
