I sold this oven to a younger couple and when they got it home the dual right front element was not working - it worked fine for us. He has opened the back and lifted the top to look for any loose or burnt connections as I had thought that something could have worked loose in transit. None were found. Any ideas? I'd like to get this resolved for everyone and save them some money. If it's just an element, that seems to be an easy fix, but there may be some sort of fuse or power problem.

Here are your parts Parts for Maytag MER6772BAQ Range - AppliancePartsPros.comHere is a link to a service manual. It has a wiring diagram for this unit. You will have to join the site and be logged in to be able to download it. http://appliancejunk.com...&id=390;t=1448118139Since the wiring is OK it may be the element or the infinite switch. Check the elements with a meter. The inner one should be about 80 ohms and the outer should be about 40 ohms. If both are open then odds are that the limiter that is part of the element is open. If the above is OK then odds are that the infinite switch is bad. Be sure that the unit is unplugged when doing this. |
