I have a GE Profile Range JGB920BEF2BB. Suddenly two buttons on the Control Pad no longer work, "0" and "Start", which are adjacent to each other. Everything else seems to work, and there are no error codes. (I need "Start" in order to use the oven and most everything else.) I opened it up and it seems clean and dry without anything obvious to fix, except replace parts. Although there may be no way to know for sure, would it be advisable to replace the front Control Panel AP3205016 (touchpad), the Control Board AP392864 (circuit board and led screen behind it), or is there something else I can do to troubleshoot?

Here are your parts
Parts for GE JGB920BEF2BB Range - AppliancePartsPros.com

I do not have access to GE tech data.
If you have the tech sheet for the unit it may show the pinouts for the keypad.
You could then use a meter to check if the resistance drops to 0 ohms when those keys are pressed.
If they do then it is a bad control board,

If you cannot test this then the more likely culprit is the keypad/control panel.

If you order it from Appliance parts pros they will let you return it if it does not fix the problem. Please see their return policy.

You may also want to try the following.

Connector Cleaning / Checking
Unplug the unit
Open it up
Remove the ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board at the control board.
Clean the edge connector. Use electronics contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol.
If it is the type where there is not a connector just the insulation is removed, it can be cleaned with a pencil eraser. Do not use an ink eraser as it is too abrasive.
Check the tracks in the ribbon cable for hairline cracks. A magnifying glass helps here.
Would not hurt to clean the connector on the board. Use electronics contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. Be gentle and do not reconnect till all the solvent evaporates.
Reconnect everything and give it a try.
