Hi all,

I have Kenmore 596.69973011 approx. 4 years old.

To preface the story; A few months back in the summer I had the ice build up problem and top shelf of the refrigerator was warm. After defrosting, I first checked the fan which was working fine. I then removed the thermostat and tested for continuity in ice water, was unable to create the continuity after 5 mins. So I went ahead and replaced the thermostat. Every was fine since then, last 2.5 months.

Now fast forward a bit; Last week I notice the light bulb was out in the freezer. OK no big deal I thought, I'll just replace the bulb when I get around to it. Now today I notice the top shelf is not that cold again and there's frost building at the back of the freezer... are you kidding me?

Now here's the kicker, I tested the light bulb and bulb is still good but not working in the freezer. Could this have anything to do with the freezer not defrosting? Bulb went out about 5 days ago and freezer starts to ice up. Would this suggest there's something wrong with the main control board?

Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.
