We have a Whirlpool Gold Side by Side Refrigerator/Freezer. Several months ago we opened the refrigerator and noticed it was dark. At first I thought the lightbulb had just gone out but that was not the case. We unplugged the power cord and plugged it back in and everything came back on. A few weeks go by and again, same thing happens, same solution fixed it. This has been going on for months. Eventually we figured out that we didn't have to unplug the power cord but could instead just turn the temperature control and it would come back on. When the refrigerator is off, the freezer side remains on. The refrigerator side is completely off, light off, "motor" off, temperature control display off, etc. So far we have been able to put off a repair but I know one of these days our little trick isn't going to work. From the research I've done so far, it seems like we might need to start by replacing the thermostat. One thing I've been frustrated about is that all of the "how to" videos do not have the same temperature control that I do. I have "Style 2" - the one with a digital display. Please let me know what you think the problem may be and what part I need to order. Thanks in advance!

Here are your parts
Parts for Whirlpool GS6SHAXMB00 Refrigerator - AppliancePartsPros.com

I do not think that the input/display board is the problem.
It is more likely to be the control board (item 18 in section 11).

Thank you for the reply. I agree. After doing a little more looking around I found a lot of people having very similar problems and they all replaced the control board. Looks like an easy fix. I see that Appliance Parts Pros does not have that part right now. Hopefully it will be back in soon.
