We have a Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 range in our house that we just started renting out (so I do not have the actual model number.) The oven control is a knob with a digital read out display of the temperature.

Recently, when the knob is in the "off" position the oven continues to heat at the lowest setting (~170 deg). It does not seem to be just positional (eg you turn the know slightly and the oven goes off). You actually have to turn the knob all the way around and then the oven goes off.

Any thoughts on what exactly is going on here? Is it potentially the electronics behind the knob/display?

Thanks!
Britt

Did you ever get this resolved ? Our same exact oven has started doing the same thing that you have described ?
Thanks - Aaron
