I have a combo microwave/oven unit. After a recent power surge, the microwave did not operate, the control panel/touchpad displayed gibberish. The oven continued to operate perfectly as did the oven control panel/touchpad.
A repair tech advised that BOTH the microwave "motherboard" AND "touchpad" need to be replaced. Does this seem correct??? Why not just the motherboard???
