Hi Folks,
The end of cycle buzzer on my Maytag dryer failed to stop. I turn the cycle dial and it shuts off, but something is staying on as I can hear a slight hum/buzz. To shut it off I must open the door. The dryer does not run at any cycle setting now.
I've checked the push-to-start button (Ohmmeter and bypass) and the door switch and they check out. I had noticed that for a while now the cycle dial would stick sometimes when it was set for a longer dry time. The dryer has always dried clothes very well, not taking too long, so I've simply not set the cycle time beyond a certain point. Doubt there's a heat problem.
Before I replace the motor, is there anything else I should check? Possibly the cycle dial? Anything else?
Thanks so much,
Paul

Might this be a timer switch issue? If so, I'm not sure how to test it. There are too many wires!
Someone suggested that it's the motor, but before I replace that, could there be something else I should check first?
Thanks for any advice.

Here are your parts Parts for Maytag LDE8200ACW Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.comDo you have the wiring diagram? Sometimes it is glue to the rear cover or sometimes they store it in the control console. Below is a manual for the LDE series unfortunately it does not include your unit but may still be usefulo to you. You will have to join the site and be logged in to be able to download it. http://appliancejunk.com...e&id=53;t=1445520605I would not replace the motor until you do more troubleshooting. There will be at least one or two thermal fuses (cut-off) in the motor circuit. Also timer contacts. From the earlier buzzer problems, the timer would be at the top of my list before the motor. |
