I have a maytag dishwasher. Upon a complete cycle why does water still stands ? After 2 to 3 days more water enters without it being used.

I would tackle the water coming in when idle first as tey may be related.

There are two ways this can happen.

1. The drain is not installed correctly so water is backing up into it.
Please see the following install sheet

2. The water valve is not sealing correctly. Only way to fix this is to replace the valve.
