So the saga continues. I have been fighting this for a year now. Defrosting every week. This has the adaptive defrost control. I have checked the element. The defrost t-stat works. It shows continuity when frozen and open when warm. I put my meter on the leads for the element and then put it in forced defrost mode and I have no voltage at the element. I have replaced the control board for about $200 and same problem. I have removed the ice maker because the element burned out. I am assuming this has nothing to do with the problem as the common is tied together at the back of the plug. I installed the new control board and programmed it for CODE 12 which is what it sys on the tag. I have checked my seals and everything is good. Even if I had a bad defrost t-stat, forced defrost should still show 110V. I cant believe I blew $200 for a new board, but I thought I had ruled everything else out. Getting really sick of defrosting this every week.
