I have this dryer which is giving us no heat. I replaced the main control board and heater element yet still have no heat. The thermostat and thermistor check out fine, the breaker is fine, had a tech check all these components. If he jumps the wires on the heater relay we get heat. The tech wants me to find out what controls the input to the relay on the main control board. He seems to think the new board I paid $270 for has the same issue the original board had. Any advice would be appreciated.

It is possible to have a bad board out of the box, but if your having the same issues as the original part, i highly doubt this is the issue. Jumping the relay is a dangerous, and i wouldn't recommend doing this in the future.

When the dryer starts, the motor windings spin up and the centrifugal switch closes, applying voltage to the burner thermal and burner cutoff then to the lower side of the elements. The secondary or L2 side comes from the relay in the board and applies power to the upper side of the elements.

Elements should ohm at 9.5 to 10 ohms, the burner thermals should all show continuity. If these check correct then the problem will be in either the motor, ccu or User interface.. commonly know as the touchpad.

See the attachment for the tech sheet.
Try running the diagnostics to see if anything shows up as an error.

I doubt that you will be able to find out what controls the heater relay on the board as companies do not publish board schematics.
