Freezer and food compartments do not cool properly, ice maker will not make ice. It stopped functioning properly 7 days ago. Service tech said it was the defrost timer. Installed yesterday and unit still not working. Cycles thru defrost as normal, heating element defrosts coils and then when the compressor comes on it cools. But, I've noticed the fan in the freezer does not run so it does not get as cold as it should. The fan ran for a few hours on Friday before I replaced the defrost timer and both compartments where working fine. Since I noticed it working Friday I have not heard the fan run again. I noticed when the fan was on the compressor was running harder and hotter as you would expect. Without the fan in the freezer working the compressor runs all the time when it is not in the defrost cycle. But, the compressor is relatively cool to the touch. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
