Our quiet partner iv dishwasher stopped working suddenly. The panel only has led lights along the top: 6 cycle selections, 5 cycle status, 4 wash options, a 4 hr delay, start, and finally cancel.

When I select a cycle, the rinsing status light and heated dry option light both come and stay on (nothing flashing). I ran a diagnostic run, and it completed without any issue it seems. It went to standby without blinking any led lights at end. The only odd thing i noted was that although all the lights came on at once at the start (seems to be a panel light check), the drying status light never came on at the end. According to the tech notes on bottom of dishwasher that light is supposed to come of for the last two intervals of diagnostic run. In any case it still won't run after the diagnostic, and still shows the two leds(rinsing &heated dry) light when i try to run anything. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,
John

Sounds like a problem with the control board.

Hello Denman,

Thank you for your fast response!! I'm relieved someone has knowledge of this unit. In reading your answer, I'm interested to know how you came to your conclusion. Is there any specific error code that this represents, or is this more a vague error and the control board seems like a good guess to start with replacing? I'm trying to gauge whether this will succinctly fix it, or if there are underlying causes which are more serious and going to be an incremental part replacement quest. I'd rather save the money from a bunch of stepwise replacement guesses if we will still wind up needing to purchase a new unit. I don't mean to come across as negative, I'm not sure how my response will be read since text someone's doesn't convey tones etc. In fact I'm quite grateful for the help. I just have my in-laws coming into town to visit in a couple weeks, and so i just don't want this to drag out with everyone here. In reading the earlier posts on the forum looking for someone having the same issue, I came across a few in which the poster did a replacement of control board but didn't solve the issue. Are you confident this is the only issue and, although the board is expensive, if replaced will solve the problem? Again, thank you so much for your guidance!

Best regards,
John

I am assuming that you removed power from the unit for a few minutes to see if it would reset itself.

Since the lights do not start an error code for a shorted key then the control board is the most likely culprit.

There is no code that I know of.
The control board is just the most likely.
Often it is a toss up between the keyboard or control board.

No, I understand there is no use throwing dollars at a dead horse.
If you purchase the control board from AppliancePartsPros and it does not fix the problem, they will let you return it. Please see their return policy.

I am 75% confident that this is the problem.
Note that I am a pessimist so am only 100% sure of a fix after the fix is completed.

FYI. I had the exact problem, word for word. It was described excellently!! I ordered the Electronic Contoll Board and just replaced it. 75% seemed like good odds. But... It did NOT solve the problem. I still have the same steady Rinsing light on. Bummer. Guessing it must be the only other electronic part, the panel control??? Gonna order that one. Hope this helps out others. Now I’m in 300 bucks into a repair.
