This "frost-free" freezer isn't. Replaced the defrost element. Still ices up - have to manually defrost about every 6 weeks. I have a new defrost timer, but can't find it on this machine. I thought at first blocked vents, so made sure they weren't blocked (built little 'fences' around the openings from vinyl garden fencing), but that wasn't the problem. PS, I will never, ever, own another one of these machines.

It is outside the freezer compartment on the back lower left support (when looking at the back of the freezer). It is secured with 2 sheet metal screws with a 1/4 hex head. The manual override dial is visible through a punched hole in that support. Just remove the 2 screws, disconnect the electrical connector. Then reverse the procedure to install the new timer.

Thank you. I was kind of afraid it would be back there - I'd pretty much exhausted the other possibilities. Getting the machine turned around is going to be a challenge. Would have been nice if they'd put it in the same bracket as the thermostat - now there would be a novel idea ;-)
